SIR Exercise: Election Commission Announces Revised Dates For 12 States/UTs (X/ANI)
New Delhi: The Election Commission of India has announced a revised Schedule by extending the relevant dates by one week for the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Rolls in 12 States/UTs with reference to 01.01.2026 as the qualifying date.
Notably, the Election Commission of India is conducting the second phase of SIR of electoral rolls across 12 states and Union Territories. It is to be noted here that the first phase of SIR was conducted in Bihar in September before the Assembly elections 2025. The SIR exercise will include Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Goa, Chhattisgarh, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Lakshadweep, Puducherry, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal.
As part of the exercise, enumeration form will be filled, which are being distributed door-to-door by the BLOs.
